Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 21 June 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Stavleak, an online hackathon platform operated from Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
01Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using any part of Stavleak you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of majority in your country with the consent of a guardian, and able to enter into a binding agreement. You agree to use the platform in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and any laws that apply to you, including export and sanctions rules.
03Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for everything that happens under your account. Keep your credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. Each person may hold only one participant account; creating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage is prohibited.
04The platform and roles
Stavleak provides the software that connects three kinds of users — participants, organizing organizations, and jury members. Stavleak is a technology provider, not the organizer of any hackathon. Events are created and run by the organizations that host them, and those organizations are solely responsible for their rules, decisions and prizes.
05Hackathon participation
When you register for a hackathon you agree to the specific rules published by its organizer. The organizer alone decides on participant approval, eligibility, evaluation, disqualification and the awarding and delivery of prizes. Stavleak does not guarantee and is not responsible for any prize, reward or organizer decision.
06Your content and the license you grant
You keep all ownership of the profiles, projects, text, images and other content you submit ("User Content"). To operate the platform you grant:
- Stavleak a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce and display your User Content for the purpose of running, securing and showcasing the platform;
- The organizers and jury of any event you enter the right to view, store and evaluate your submissions in accordance with that event's rules;
- You confirm that you own or have the rights to your User Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or any law.
07Ownership of your projects
Stavleak claims no ownership of the projects you build. Some hackathons may ask you to agree to additional intellectual-property, open-source or sponsor terms; those are set by the organizer and apply between you and them. Read each event's rules before you submit.
08Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, misleading, unlawful, hateful, harassing or infringing content;
- plagiarize, cheat, or misrepresent the authorship or eligibility of a submission;
- upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape, or disrupt the platform or its security;
- use the platform to harass other users or to collect their data without consent.
09Stavleak intellectual property
The Stavleak name, logo, software, design and content (other than User Content) are owned by Stavleak and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer the platform.
10Third-party services
The platform may link to or rely on third-party services (such as authentication or hosting providers). We are not responsible for the content or practices of third parties, and your use of their services is governed by their own terms.
11Suspension and termination
You may stop using the platform and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or the law, or to protect the platform and its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
12Disclaimer
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
13Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Stavleak is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data, or for organizer decisions or prizes, arising from your use of the platform.
14Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Stavleak harmless from claims, losses and expenses arising out of your User Content, your use of the platform, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone else's rights.
15Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through negotiation shall be submitted to the competent courts of the city of Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan.
16Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version with a revised "last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you through the platform. Continuing to use the platform after changes take effect means you accept them.
